In 2014, CCEDC presented the Campbell County Economic Development Corporation as a public-private effort supported by a broad local investor list.
CCEDC investor list
The heading “Investor Relations” introduced “CCEDC Investor list” and a long alphabetical roster. The roster included accounting and legal practices, staffing services, banks, energy producers, mining operations, engineering and environmental firms, property and construction businesses, local government bodies, education, restaurants, health practices, industrial suppliers and other professional services.
The list showed the range of organizations associated with CCEDC’s economic-development work in 2014. It connected major resource industries with the smaller service, retail and professional businesses that supported community life. It also placed public institutions alongside private firms, reinforcing the public-private funding model described on the About page.
The public-private model
In 2008, CCEDC said CCEDC’s operating funds came from Gillette, Wright, Campbell County and more than forty-five corporate and individual sponsors. The 2015 About page similarly described primary funding from private investors in local industries and companies, with contributions from county and city government. Together, those details show that investor relations was central to the public-private model.
Support was described as a way to sustain business retention, expansion, recruitment and economic diversification work. Economic data, transportation, workforce training, community development and buildings and sites were shared regional subjects that such a network supported. The Board of Directors roster shows the corresponding governance structure.
Investor relations linked financial support, governance and public reporting within the same institutional structure.
A period United States Economic Development Administration release independently records the organization’s cluster research and planning activity. It supports the historical development context without confirming any individual sponsor relationship.
