The $39.6 million Technical Education Center was described as a state-of-the-art facility that trained skilled workers in high-growth, high-wage occupations for industries in Campbell County and Wyoming.
Workforce training
The Technology Center was grouped under Workforce Development and Workforce Training, alongside “Gillette College - I-TEC” and “High School Tech Programs.” The description said the center offered an environment rich with state-of-the-art equipment where students experienced situational work challenges firsthand.

After the diesel technology center, the training summary listed the following areas:

The Tech Center also housed a Culinary Training Center with its own program kitchen and space for industry dinners of up to 300 people.
Access for younger students
High school and junior high school students had access to the Tech Center for additional learning opportunities. A district pre-engineering program had dedicated space for hands-on access to contemporary technologies.
The center in the larger CCEDC story
In 2001, Campbell County’s labor force was described as well educated; many residents held secondary degrees from the local college, which provided technical programs and customized industry courses. By 2014, the Technology Center offered diesel, welding, electrical, safety, engineering, mining, power and culinary training.
That sequence shows why workforce development was central to CCEDC’s work. The organization treated skills as economic infrastructure: a way to serve existing mineral and industrial work while also giving employers and workers a broader base of practical capability. Together, the diesel, technical, culinary and younger-student programs show one facility serving several stages and kinds of workforce preparation.
