Campbell County lies in northeast Wyoming. The archived community page placed Gillette and Wright midway between the Black Hills and the Big Horn Mountains, on the rolling plains of the ancient Powder River Basin.

Gillette and Wright

The 2008 Community page identified Gillette and Wright as the two incorporated communities in Campbell County. Gillette was the principal population center in the Data Center’s tables, while Wright represented the county’s southern community. The FAQ described the area served by CCEDC as the entire county, including both communities and rural areas.

Powder River Basin setting

The home and community pages repeatedly used the Powder River Basin to explain place and economy. They connected the rolling high-plains landscape with coal, oil, natural gas, power generation, mining-support work and the infrastructure serving those industries. The map therefore functioned as more than orientation: it situated the economic-development story in a resource basin with long regional connections.

Transportation context

The air page placed the airport four miles north of Gillette off United States Highways 14 and 16. Its period destinations included cities in Colorado, Utah, Montana and North Dakota, while the rail page listed four serving companies.

Together, those sections show how the map supported the business pages: readers could place communities, sites and facilities within a wider transportation network. No current route, property or access claim is made here.

Place in the CCEDC site

Geographic orientation accompanied sections on economic development, community development, workforce development, buildings and sites, outside resources and investor relations. A shorter related page used the title “CCEDC Map.”
